INTCATCH at SDG6 : “Sustainable Urban Water and Sanitation: Public goods in the Service of Society” (Photo & Video)

From 21-22 March 2019, EYDAP presented INTCATCH boats in SDG6 forum/conference that organized by UNESCO cat.II Center for Integrated and Interdisciplinary Water Resources Management (CIIWRM) of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) in cooperation with Region of Central Macedonia, Thessaloniki Water Supply and Sewerage Company (EYATH S.A.), Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company (EYDAP S.A.) and Hellenic Association of Municipal Water and Sewerage Companies (E.D.E.Y.A.). SDG6 was under the auspices of the Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, and the Hellenic Ministry of Environment and Energy. Almost 200 representatives from relevant organizations, Agencies and UNESCO Water Centers and Chairs from the South Eastern Europe countries, participated and discuss the important issues of water, into the framework of Sustainable Development, public and social responsibility and democratic function in the area of the South Eastern Europe.
During the Forum's work, a demonstration of INTCACTH autonomous robotic boat was carried out with a simulation of its capabilities regarding water quality monitoring through innovative monitoring strategies, tools and management, providing real time data for important parameters. There was great interest of all participants and the Greek on line press covered the presentation of INTCATCH boats with an article by www.greenagenda.gr.
Particular interest was shown by Alexandros Makarigakis, representative of UNESCO (Cross Cutting Thematic Unit for Disaster Risk Reduction) based in Paris, EYATH President and Chief Executive Officer Yiannis Krestenitis, members of EYATH (Director of Drainage, Mr. Traganos, Honorable D (Mr. Athanasios Soupilas, researcher Mr. Ljubas, etc.), Mr. George Marinakis, Chairman of the Association of Municipal Water Supply and Sewerage Enterprises (EDEYA), Ms. J. Perkins, representative of the UN-Habitat GWOPA Network, Mr. Yiannis Tsoukrakis, representative of the NGO's in the Managing Authority Thermaikos and Protected Areas, as well as members of the Greek and international academic community.
